US AND TURKEY AGREE TO MAINTAIN HTS IN IDLIB

The US and Turkey have signed an agreement to keep Hay’at Tahrir al Sham group to confront Russians in Northern Syria, reveals Egyptian online newspaper Arabi 24 referring to its source, who wished to remain anonymous for security reasons.

Abbas Sharifeh, researcher on jihadist group, told in an interview to the newspaper that Washington intends to benefit from the presence of HTS in Northern Syria. “The termination of Hay’at Tahrir al Sham in Idlib means a major threat to the US, this would facilitate entering Idlib for the regime and Russia, that means a loss of the important bargaining chip to be used against Russians.”

Earlier reports also claimed Turkey had equipped HTS with the US-made drilling vehicles through a Turkish businessman transferring them to Khan Sheikhoun of Southern Idlib and Kafr Zita, al Latamineh and Sahl al Ghabab of Northern Hama.
