UK refused to cooperate with HTS terrorist grouping which is linked to al-Qaeda.
“HTS is a threat to anyone who appreciates pluralism and human rights. Britain will not deal with HTS. It exposes the people of Idlib to risk,” said UK Special Representative for Syria Gareth Bayley.
However HTS denied the claim of British Foreign Office and affirmed that it was far from the truth and in favor of the Syrian government.
HTS took control over most towns and cities in Idlib province and announced the establishing of “Unified administration” for managing all the administrative and military affairs in the region.
The city of Idlib was included in the de-escalation zones according to the “Astana 6” talks attended by the Syrian government and the armed opposition under the auspices of the guarantors of Syria – Turkey, Russia, Iran.
