Syrian Air Force Intelligence agents confiscated a large amount of weapons destined for the Damascene suburb of Barzeh.
They seized a large cache of RPG-29 rounds and US-manufactured anti-tank TOW missiles that were supposed to be delivered to the Saudi-backed Jaysh al Islam group in Barzeh.
The Islamist rebels took a risk in attempting to smuggle guided missiles owing to a lack of anti-tank missiles in the East Ghouta region. The seizure of these missiles is good indication of Jaysh al Islam’s desperation in the East Ghouta.
