Saudi Arabia intensifies cooperation with Kurds to spite Turkey and Qatar.
A Saudi diplomatic delegation led by Saudi Minister of Persian Gulf Affairs Thamer al Sabhan met with the U.S. military and diplomatic officials and members of the Syrian Democratic Council in al Omar oilfield of Eastern Deir Ezzor last week.
They discussed the situation in Deir Ezzor province, military cooperation, funding of the Kurdish fighters and work of the local councils. Sides agreed to increase efforts to improve humanitarian situation in the region.
Then al Sabhan met with Arab tribal leaders. He asked them to support SDF militiamen in the struggle against ISIS. Saudi Minister also warned them from the cooperation with Turkey- and Qatar-backed groups.
