Saudi Arabia’s two sharia judges Abdullah al-Muhaisni and Musleh al-Alayani broke away from HTS according to a statement released through social sites.
In a statement published on Monday, al-Muhaisni and Al-Aliani justified their decision by failure in achieve their goal of being in HTS. In addition they referred to clashes between HTS and Ahrar al-Sham in Idlib as one of the main reasons of their resignation.
The resignation followed the publishing of audio record of conversation between the HTS general commander Abu Muhammad al-Julani and the commander of Idlib sector Abu al-Walid (also known as Abu Hamza Bensh) which described the mentioned saudi preachers as “fools“.
In this conversation Abu al-Walid demanded to allow him to arrest the sharia judge al-Muhaisni, focusing that the Saudi preacher had urged HTS groupings not to fight against Ahrar al-Sham. But al-Julani rejected his request and said that “his arrest will make the deal more complicated”.
