A former Syrian general who joined the opposition disclosed that Hayat Tahrir al-Sham (HTS) will not attack the Turkish troops if they enter Idlib province.

Lieutenant-General Ahmad al-Rhal claimed that he has information, confirming HTS agreement with Turkish intervention in Idlib, adding that Turkey is amassing troops in preparation for a cross-border operation.

Earlier spokesperson of the Turkish President Ibrahim Kalin announced that Ankara will disclose “tangible measures” for de-escalation in Idlib. The statement came as yet another sign of Turkey’s readiness to send troops to the Syrian province, largely controlled by HTS militants.
