Amid the aggravating danger to the life of civilians the citizens of Daraa province accused militant factions of being unable to put an end to constant assassinations and explosions that result in death of militants and civilians alike.
Daraa is included in the de-escalation zone established in the beginning of May by mutual efforts of Syria, Russia, Iran an Turkey. To fulfill the agreement, the Syrian army stopped attacking militants in Daraa. However, the security situation there remains unstable due to sporadic clashes between rival factions.
According to local activists, explosions and assassination attempts occur in Daraa on a daily basis, especially on the roads, some of that have been named “death roads” by the locals. The militants factions active in the area appear to be unable or unwilling to restore stability in the area.
