SVBIEDDespite losing ground on all fronts in eastern Syria, beleaguered ISIS units mobilized for a hit-and-run operation on Wednesday to infiltrate the Syrian Arab Army’s (SAA) positions at Wadi Waer, a desolate desert area in southern Deir Ezzor.

Spearheaded by a lone SVBIED, ISIS stormed an SAA outpost with a couple dozen fighters, prompting government forces to temporarily retreat from the area. Before withdrawing from the captured point, the terrorists set alight multiple trucks and captured ammunition abandoned by the SAA garrison.
