HIGH-RANKING AL-QAEDA LEADER KILLED IN SYRIA BY US DRONE

A high-ranking al-Qaeda commander has been killed by a US drone strike in Syria’s province of Idlib.

The 59-year-old Abu al-Khayr al-Masri was killed by a drone strike in Idlib.

Masri, born Abdullah Muhammad Rajab Abdel Rahman in Egypt, was also a close aide to al-Qaeda’s current leader Ayman al-Zawahiri.

He was killed during an attack on his car on Sunday.

Images posted on social media showed his car with its roof destroyed after the attack. The most rebel’s leaders has also confirmed that a senior al-Qaeda figure was killed in the province of Idlib.
