Hezbollah resumed its offensive against Hayat Tahrir al Sham fighters near the Syrian border yesterday after the extremists killed a negotiator.
Ahmad Faleeti, former deputy mayor of the border town of Arsal, was killed on Saturday when terrorists from Tahrir al Sham hit his car with a guided missile.
He lost his leg in the attack and later died in hospital.
Mr Faleeti had volunteered to negotiate with the terrorists for its withdrawal from the area, home to a major camp for Syrian refugees.
Tens of thousands of refugees have been living in the informal camps around Arsal after fleeing the Syrian civil war.
