At least 18 civilians were killed in a US-led coalition air strike in Raqqa on Aug, 28. The local sources reported that the strike targeted a house near al-Hadiqa al-Bayda district in the city center. The building was destroyed, many of the bodies still remain under rubble.
Over the past two days the coalition has stepped up air strikes on Raqqa, hitting the city more than 130 times to support the Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) offensive. The actions of the attacking forces often result in death of civilians, who remain under the rule of ISIS terrorists
As the Raqqa offensive has entered its third month, the city suffers from extremely difficult humanitarian conditions. While the coalition and SDF continue to target living quarters with air strikes and artillery fire, the ISIS terrorists force the civilians to stay and use them as a human shield.
