BBC 4 released a video report, touting the members of the Nour al-Din al-Zenki group who beheaded a Palestinian refugee child as moderate rebels who are fighting the “Syrian regime”.
In July, the world was appalled when graphic images showed members of the Nour al-Din al-Zenki brigade beheaded a 12-year-old boy from a Palestinian refugee family who lived in a rebel-held area of Aleppo.
Members of the Nour al-Din al-Zinki Movement are accused of killing him. The group said those responsible were handed over to a judicial committee, and denounced the killing as a “violation”. ..
The US, which has provided military support to the Nour al-Din al-Zinki Movement in the past, said it was seeking more information on what it described as “an appalling report”.
Less than four months later, BBC 4 NEWS, however, would post a report in which the very same individuals responsible for the killing of the 12-year-old were touted as moderate Syrian “rebels” who are resisting the “Assad regime”.
Not a word mentioned about the fact that promises, by the commanders of the Nour al-Din al-Zenki, had not held those who were responsible for the war crime accountable, these individuals were now touted as heroic resistance fighters.
