A Salafi preacher Huzaifa Abdullah Azzam accused Hayat Tahrir al-Sham group (HTS) of enabling ISIS commanders to transfer money to Idlib province controlled by HTS militants.
According to the preacher, prominent ISIS military leaders are establishing shops and banking services in the areas of HTS presence in Idlib.
“ISIS money flows to Al-Nusra areas, where shops and banking centers are established and managed by prominent ISIS commanders,” Azzam twitted on his personal page.
The Idlib province became the largest opposition hub after the government forces liberated Aleppo in December, 2016. After the infighting between HTS and other armed opposition group, notably Ahrar al-Sham movement, nearly all province was captured by HTS militants. The group proclaims itself an independent Islamist movement and denies any ties to external forces.
