The Special Monitoring Mission to Syria conducted an investigation on recent U.S.-led airstrikes near Abu Kamal town of Deir Ezzor province.
According to local sources, the U.S.-led international coalition airstrikes caused casualties among residents of Abu Kamal district. But various sources claim that the raids were aimed at ISIS positions in the province of Deir Ezzor.
Information on the U.S.-led airstrikes has turned up on official Twitter account of the International Coalition for Operation Inherent Resolve.
The CJTF–OIR claims an ISIS tactical unit, HQs structure and a vehicle were destroyed in the airstrikes.
However, pro-opposition sources claim the airstrikes caused at least 20 casualties among civilians accusing Russian Aerospace Forces and Syrian Air Force. But no RuAF and SyAF raids were reported on October 20, 2017.
According to the earlier reports, over 120 ISIS terrorists and a command post were destroyed in RuAF strikes on October 7, 2017.
Thus it can be concluded that the casualties of civilians in Abu Kamal town were caused by the U.S.-led air raids.
