A humanitarian convoy of the United Nations and the Red Cross Committee entered northern Homs province on Thursday, Oct 19th.

The vehicles arrived to the villages of Ghanto, Teir Maala and Dar al-Kabirah, delivering food rations, kitchen supplies and medicine kits to the local citizens. The UN officials have also distributed warm clothes and flour sacks among the locals.

The area opened for humanitarian aid after the High Negotiation Committee stroke a deal with Russia early October. The deal includes an immediate ceasefire, reopening of checkpoints for humanitarian access. The Russian side has also promised to look into the issue of detainees hold by the Syrian government.
