The military commander of Ahrar al-Sham movement Abu Adnan Zabadani (Abu Adnan Zaytoun) announced his resignation two months after assuming this post. Ahrar al-Sham has not officialy commented on the situation.
The resignation comes after the group’s military defeat in the city of Armanaz, which was overrun by the militants of Hayat Tahrir al-Sham.
Abu Adnan Zabadani took leadership of Ahrar al-Sham military command this August in a major reshuffle within the group’s ranks. Before that he was Ahrar al-Sham commander in Zabadani.
