Hayat Tahrir al-Sham (HTS) group has criticized the High Negotiation Committee (HNS) stance on Turkish intervention in Syria after the Committee General Coordinator Riyad Hijab said that the opposition supports any Turkish military action against HTS in Idlib province.

In a statement, published on the group’s social media, HTS accused HNC of lacking legitimacy and having “no clear agenda”. “After HNC failure in humanitarian domain and failure to achieve its political goals, its leader made a surprise and odd statement, provoking to fight against HTS, one of the most prominent revolutionary bodies”, the statement says.

Hijab announced opposition’s support for Turkish military intervention to Idlib in an interview to Al-Jazira channel, saying that the opposition wants “to get rid of Al-Qaeda”.
